Marshall Teitelbaum, M.D.

Background and Training

Dr. Teitelbaum earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 1990 and completed his psychiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic in 1993. He then pursued fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of South Florida, finishing in 1995. That dual focus on adult and pediatric psychiatry has shaped his entire career.

He began practicing in South Florida in 1995 with Florida Psychiatric Associates and opened his own private practice in 1998. Since then, he has built a reputation for being thorough, prepared, and deeply attentive. He reviews every patient's records before their appointment. When you sit down with him, he already knows your history. The focus is on what matters most: how you're doing right now and what comes next.

Community Service and Teaching

Beyond his private practice, Dr. T has invested years in community-based care. He spent 18 years providing psychiatric services at Helping People Succeed and 10 years at Hibiscus Children's Shelter. He served at Sandy Pines Child Psychiatric Hospital as medical staff director and director of peer reviews. That depth of experience with vulnerable children and families informs how he practices today.

Dr. T mentors medical students rotating through his office and has presented annually with Palm Beach County Youth Services on psychopharmacology in child and adolescent mental health since 2019.

How Dr. T Works

Here's how he works: a careful psychiatric evaluation, a clear diagnosis when possible, and a medication plan tailored to each patient.

"One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is that clinicians don't get to know their patients well enough. I work hard to change that. I combine psychology, family dynamics, and a detailed understanding of medication to help my patients feel well. And I stay in close contact with their other clinicians, because we all do better work when we learn from each other."

He coordinates closely with therapists, primary care physicians, and other members of your care team to make sure your treatment is connected, not fragmented.

Outside the Office

Outside the office, Dr. T grew up as an avid snorkeler and loves the water. He keeps aquariums, bakes, and grows tropical fruit in his backyard, including bananas, pineapples, and black sapote. You'll also notice his cartoon socks. He wears a different pair every day.
